Our Lives and Loves

Return to the Sealife

November 5th, 2009 Posted in Family, Homeschooling, Travels

In May when we began our UK living we lived in an area of the city of Birmingham that was green shy.  In order to get out weekly the kids and I purchased a year pass to the local Sealife Centre as we could walk to it easily.  That pass is still getting used as the kids ask me to go again and again.  Since we’ve visited the centre six time during the spring we know our way around the place really well.  But I promised the kids one visit a month and so we made time for it again this week.  With a 15 minute train ride and a half hour walk along the canals we’re at the door.  This time round Hannah decided to have a go with the camera and came up with some fantastic shots.

Otter Feeding

Here is one of the cute otters excitedly trying to greet a member of the staff.

Turtle

This is an amzing shot considering it is through four inches of curved Plexiglass.  It surpasses anything I’ve managed in this area of the aquarium to this date.

Lionfish

There are all kinds of fish at the Sealife Centre.  Here is a picture of a Lionfish.

Enjoy!
