Our Lives and Loves

Return to England

September 20th, 2009 Posted in The Body, Travels

As most of you know we have returned to England.  Living in a England vs visiting has its own challenges and adventures which we are facing head on.

We flew a red eye flight into Amsterdam, had a wait there for our flight to Birmingham.  That was a test of our patience!  Emma was the only one to sleep from Toronto and three more slept on the one hour flight to Birmingham so you can just imagine how we all looked and felt. Actually, you don’t have to imagine. You can see that we’re not looking great.

It was about 11:00 am in the UK but it felt like 6:00 am, minus a night of sleep, for us.  We were greeted by Pastor Stephen and Gord Whitehead.  Amazingly all our luggage and selves fit into their two small cars.  At the house Sandy, the Whitehead children, and Katie welcomed us back.  There was a full fridge and food to eat.

We’re living in a beautiful house in Solihull in the West Midlands and are busy furnishing it.  So far Pete has had great success with Freecycle contributions as well as the generous hand outs from members of Solihull Presbyterian Church.  We have been so blessed and are so grateful.

Caleb had fun taking pictures of our landing into England–just a few too many to show!  LOL

We were thinking of you yesterday while we were at Ruthven Park.
It would be great to have your address (real, house address rather than email.)
