Negative Embossing

I made this card this afternoon using a dry embossing brass plate but I can’t seem to upload any cards on SCS today.  I wanted to share what I did here. Hopefully I can upload my newest cards in my SCS gallery tomorrow.

The challenge today was to use a Cuttlebug or other embossing machine to make a negative of the embossing the plate. I don’t own any embossing machines so I used what I do have.

Remember those brass plates and light boxes used to raise the surface of an image? I used one of those instead of the newest fad of Cuttlebug etc. The brass plate worked just fine.

I brayered the brass plate with ink, carefully turned it over on my white card stock, taped it down, turned the card stock over on to my light table and dry embossed the image. I then peeled off the tape and voila, my negative dry embossed result. It worked out really well. It was a great challenge. For those of us without the Cuttlebug etc. it really was a challenge.
